1st meeting Pyrgos (Greece)



First Transnational Meeting in Pyrgos, Greece, 17th-20th January 2017


In Attendance–leading members from the participating schools, Greece (coordinators), Denmark, Spain and Iceland.

The participants:

-agreed on the task allocation

-clarified questions about the budget and the mobility tool

-decided on the activities of the first year concerning project implementation

-discussed details about the activities

-decided on the tools to be used for students’ communication and products

-set the dates of the mobilities

-worked on the time schedule for each activity

-suggested the tools to be used

First Year Activities

It was agreed that throughout the first year of the ‘Happily Ever After” project the children will be working on research and analysis defining happiness through several activities/ They will be offered a variety of input for reflection (books, films)

Each school will have to:

-carry out and upload at least two activities on happiness at school

-organize a logo contest until the end of February. Each school will have to contribute with three logos which will be posted on a padlet wall and there will be an online poll for the students of all the schools to select the best logo.

-brainstorm ideas about the second year’s film scenario

-participate with at least three pocket films on school happiness to the Pocket Film Festival held  in Denmark in May, as a part of experimentation with filming techniques, using tablets and school cameras. It was suggested that the films should be of the highest possible quality

-share knowledge, data, thoughts and findings through a student-managed Wiki space

-organize Skype conferences for the students

 -conduct a survey within school and family environment concerning the issue of happiness (interviews and on line questionnaires)

-analyse and compare results

-organize an Open Day and celebrate Happiness on the 9th of May which is the Day of Europe.

May 2017: (Meeting in Denmark)

The representative of the Danish school presented the planned activities for the meeting in Denmark. There will be a scientific input on brain. The meeting will focus on giving knowledge to teachers and students about the brain functions related to happiness. There will be contribution by an expert on this topic. The students will attend the pocket film festival participating with their own films.

It was also discussed that in the end of the project there should be intellectual products which should have a copyright and publishable as well as useable in other countries and schools.  Related outputs that will be accessible at the end of the project will be

-the film which will be shot in the second year and will be submitted to the Festival of Olympia

-an  analysis of research results in documents

-a sample of lessons plans, demonstrating adaptation of audiovisual literacy in various subjects

-a selection of “pocket films” (short films) related to the theme of school happiness

-the official project blog

-a Wiki space for students communication and exchanges

- an E-twinning space

-a rough guide on how to organize filming at school. The draft of this will be a workable document with additions from participating schools.
